VAZ-2108 (Lada Samara)
The VAZ-2108 engine is the 1.3-litre overhead-camshaft four from the Samara, and the preset's 11:1 compression ratio is notably high — a deliberate design choice that made it markedly more efficient than the older classic-Lada unit it replaced. The 76 mm bore and short 71 mm stroke make it oversquare, so it revs more freely than its predecessor as well. Between the 2106 and 2108 presets you have a clean before-and-after of a generation of engine design, using identical model assumptions. The calculator returns the complete cycle, P-V diagram, power, torque, BSFC and the dynamic loads.

- Run this and the VAZ-2106 preset and compare BSFC: the difference is mostly compression ratio, and the model attributes it for you.
