SMD-18 (СМД-18)
The SMD-18 is the four-cylinder Kharkiv tractor diesel fitted to the DT-75 and related agricultural machines, and it is a standard subject in agricultural-engineering coursework across Ukraine and the wider region. Its 120 mm bore by 140 mm stroke and 17:1 compression put it firmly in the slow-revving, high-torque industrial class: peak power arrives at 2000 rpm, and the design priority is durability under sustained load rather than specific output. That makes it a clean example for a strength calculation, where the loads are steady and large. The calculator returns the full cycle and the crank-train forces, with CSV export for written reports.
Preset parameters
Values below are the preset the calculator loads — you can change every one of them in the form. Angles are absolute crank angle (CA) on a 0–720° cycle.
Reference figures
Manufacturer figures carried by the preset for comparison. They are reference values, not calculator output.
Notes for modelling
- Preset power and fuel-consumption figures are reference values for the model, not a certified manufacturer specification — verify against your own source before quoting them.
- Long stroke at low rpm: gas forces dominate, which is what the stress calculation needs.
- CSV export gives the crank-angle table most coursework requires.
