Yamaha RD500
The RD500LC was Yamaha's road-going answer to its own 500 cc grand-prix bikes: a liquid-cooled two-stroke V4 sold to the public. The preset models one cylinder of that layout, running a 6.5:1 geometric compression ratio at high rpm. On a four-cylinder two-stroke the per-cylinder figures are small but the cycle repeats twice as often as a four-stroke's, which is the whole reason the architecture existed. Modelling a single cylinder and multiplying is the standard approach, and it makes the port-timing choices visible in a way a whole-engine figure never does.

Values below are the preset the calculator loads — you can change every one of them in the form. Angles are absolute crank angle (CA) on a 0–720° cycle.

Notes for modelling
- Preset geometry is approximate rather than a factory specification — check bore and stroke against your own engine before drawing conclusions.
- Multiply the per-cylinder effective power by four for the complete V4.
- Each cylinder needs its own tuned pipe; size it in the two-stroke exhaust calculator.
