Chevrolet LS7
The LS7 is the 7.0-litre naturally-aspirated V8 from the C6 Corvette Z06, and at 104.8 mm bore by 101.6 mm stroke it is the largest-displacement petrol engine in the preset library. Its 11:1 compression ratio is high for a production engine and is what makes it efficient as well as powerful — a naturally-aspirated engine has no boost to lean on, so compression and breathing do all the work. That makes it a good subject for compression-ratio studies: the effect of a point of CR is far more visible here than on a turbocharged preset. The calculator returns the full cycle, the P-V diagram, and the gas and inertia loads on the crank train.

Notes for modelling
- Large bore means large valve area and high flow — the port diameters in the preset are what the gas-exchange model uses.
- Sweeping compression from 10:1 to 12:1 and comparing BSFC is the clearest demonstration of the cycle model on this engine.
- Output is per cylinder; multiply by eight for the complete V8.
